PURPOSE: A method for using a voice over internet protocol(VoIP) using a layer 2 tunneling protocol(L2TP) in a virtual private network(VPN) is provided, which uses the VoIP freely from a number of intermediate users restricting the usage of the VoIP using L2TP. CONSTITUTION: According to the method for using the voice over internet protocol(VoIP) using L2TP(Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol) in a virtual private network(VPN), a data apparatus having the above L2TP and the VoIP apparatus are operated by one system. If a voice over internet protocol packet is entered into a layer 2, it is made as a layer 2 tunneling protocol module. And an IP packet made of the layer 2 tunneling protocol module is capsulated. Then, data exchange is performed in a tunneling made in the layer 2 tunneling protocol in advance.
