PURPOSE:To enable the folded discharge line length of the captioned lamp to be easily prolonged and enhance the luminous efficiency thereof, by making a glass cylinder for the folded discharge line to be composed of an inside-outside double glass cylinder structure. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical outside tube bulb 1 made of photo-transmissible material such as glass or the like is connected to a stem-board 2, to which a cathode lead wire 3, an outside glass cylinder 4, plural concentrically disposed anodes 5 and an exhaust pipe 6 for exhausting and charging rare gas, mercury or the like are connected. A filament 7 is connected to the tips of the lead wires 3; an inside glass cylinder 8 is open at the stem side 2 for instance, with the aperture of 5-15mm., extended like a trumpet at the top side of the outside tube bulb 1 and hermetically sealed to the outside glass cylinder 4. Phosphor is applied onto the internal surface of this bulb 1 and the both side surfaces of the double glass cylinders 4, 8. By doing this, the discharge line can be easily prolonged and the luminous efficiency can be enhanced. |
