PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent material that creates a healthy space by removing from a living space chemical substances harmful to humans, especially, formalin, etc., from coatings and adhesives or malodors emitted from cigarettes, pets, toilets, etc., and generates minus ions. SOLUTION: This adsorbent is a fired powder prepared by mixing a powder prepared by grinding a mineral such as diatomaceous earth or zeolite having a high pore volume and a large surface area with a powder prepared by grinding a natural mineral such as natural minus-ion-generating tourmaline, firing the resulting mixture at 800-1,200 deg.C in a calciner, and grinding the fired product.
