PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide innovative and exceedingly practical footwear with light emitting function, which prevents wasteful malfunction during light hours like in the daytime. SOLUTION: The footwear body 6 is provided with a light emission device A which is equipped with a power source 1, light sources 2 connected to the power source 1 and light-emitted by the power source 1, head light sensors 3 that detect illumination light from head lamps on a vehicle, an outside light sensor 4 that detects ambient lightness, and a control circuit section 5 that controls actuation so that light emission blinks of the light sources 2 are actuated. The light sources 2 and the head light sensors 3 are exposedly mounted at least on the outside circumferential surface of the footwear body 1, the outside light sensor 4 is exposedly mounted on the toe side of sole section 6A and, at the same time, on the upper surface of the fringe portion which is a pollex-side exposed upper surface of the sole section 6A of the footwear body 6, and the footwear with light emitting function is structured so that the outside light sensor 4 can detect incident light from above.
