PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new protein having a Ca2+ sensor receptor activity, to provide a DNA encoding the protein, to provide a method for screening a compound for promoting or inhibiting the activity of the protein, and to provide the compound obtained by the screening method, and the like. SOLUTION: The protein having the same or substantially same amino acid sequence as the amino acid sequence of CaR homologue originated from human is useful as a diagnostic marker for bone diseases, hypocalcemia or hypercalcemia, or as the same. The compound which promotes or inhibits the activity of the protein and is obtained by the screening method using the protein can be used as a medicine for preventing and treating diseases such as bone diseases, hypocalcemia, hypercalcemia, and the like. |
