PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a protease such as a matrix metalloprotease. SOLUTION: The method for measuring a protease comprises the following processes: (1) a process where a protease-containing sample is allowed to come into contact with a thin film (photographic films are excluded) containing a protease substrate and a hardening agent, and formed on the surface of a support; and (2) a process where the digestion marks formed on the thin film by the action of a protease are detected.
