PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel retaining its waterproof performance without damaging sealing materials in attaching/detaching a drive shaft to/from a bearing member. SOLUTION: This fishing reel has the following construction: the left and right medium-diameter bearing parts 4b and 4c of the larger-diameter part 4a of a drive shaft 4 are rotatably axially borne on bearing members 12 and 17 respectively, the outer circumferential diameter of the drive shaft 4 is such that the larger-diameter part 4a engaged with sealing materials 13 and 18 is served as contact parts (a) and b which, in turn, are larger in diameter than the medium-diameter bearing parts 4b and 4c, the medium-diameter part 4f of the drive shaft 4 engaged with a sealing material 16 is served as a contact part c which, in turn, is larger in diameter than an one-side smaller-diameter bearing part 4g on which a bearing member 14 is axially borne, and a smaller- diameter shaft part 4i engaged with a sealing material 20 is served as a contact part d which, in turn, is larger in diameter than a smaller-diameter bearing part 4j on which a bearing member 19 is axially borne.
