A rectangular roasting grid consists of grid bars (10) with a rectangular contour which rest with their ends loosely on support surfaces (9) which are present on a frame (3) bearing the fire box. When all the grid bars are in use, the draught effect is throttled; by removing one or more grid bars, the draught effect can be increased. A special design of the ash drawer (7) and the associated box (6) allows the quantity of combustion air to be regulated. <IMAGE>
