PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner for efficiently collecting an object to be removed such as dust and trash stuck to a wide area without enlarging the capacity of a fan motor in an air sucking device. SOLUTION: A sucking pipe 3 connected to an air sucking device 5 via a collecting part 6 is constituted of an outer pipe 3a and an inner pipe 3b which is disposed inside the outer pipe 3a so as to be freely relatable. A plurality of first sucking pots 3a1 opposed to a surface to be cleaned 40 are formed in the outer pipe 3a at prescribed interval along an axial direction. A plurality of second sucking ports 3b1 are formed in the inner pipe 3b provided at positions superimposing on the first sucking ports 3a1 and helically arrayed. The inner pipe 3b is rotated and driven by a motor (rotation driving means) 9 so that the positions of the first and second sucking ports 3a1 and 3b1 mutually superimposed are successively moved along the axial direction.
