PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new acidic protease capable of acting on a peptide binding chain in a protein molecule, readily producing a low-molecular protein and useful in pharmaceutical fields, e.g. utilization as a physiologically active peptide, food and drink fields and other fields utilizing proteases. SOLUTION: This new acidic protease is derived from the squid liver.
