PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a green zone, by which the rapid preparation of the green zone, the proper and rapid transplantation of molded seedlings, and the like can be achieved and further by which maintenance works for the green zone can be reduced, and to provide the method for making the green zone. SOLUTION: This method for making the green zone comprises laying a root-preventing film on a construction face, surrounding a desired area on the root-preventing film with an edge-surrounding material, spreading sponge structure sheet-like member pieces over the surrounded area to form a water-retaining layer, spreading fiber structure sheet-like member pieces over the water-retaining layer to form a rooting layer, spreading water- permeable support boards over the rooting layer, connecting and fixing the edge portions of the adjacent boards with fixing pins, and then planting the root portions of molded seedlings having inversely conical shapes corresponding to planting holes into the planting holes formed in the water-permeable support boards. Each of the water-permeable support boards has the planting holes at desired distances, is covered with a water-permeable film having small dents and protrusions on the surface excluding the planting holes, and has the same flat surface size as the size of the sponge structure sheet-like pieces and the size of the fiber structure sheet-like pieces.
