The method for connecting a pivot axis to a windscreen wiper arm involves no forces being effective on the pivot axis and wiper arm as the direct consequence of the connection. An end part (1) is intended for connection at its free outer end (2) with other parts of the windscreen wiper arm, in order to form jointly the actual arm. The end part has the shape of a somewhat twisted U-shaped profile. At its free outer end (3) the end part is provided with a pivot pin (4). The wiper blade extends half way along and entirely parallel to the wiper arm. On the one hand, the pivot pin fulfills a function when changing the wiper blade, whereby the blade is pivoted through 90 degrees around the pivot pin. On the other hand, the pivot pin is effective in ensuring that the wiper blade can adequately follow the contour of the windscreen.
