PURPOSE: An apparatus for updating an impedance of a termination circuit and a method thereof are provided, which minimizes a system noise which is generated during the impedance updating of the termination circuit. CONSTITUTION: According to the apparatus for updating an impedance of a termination circuit(30), the apparatus comprises the termination circuit comprising an up terminator(31) and a down terminator(33), and an update individual control part controlling the impedance update of the up terminator or the down terminator individually by judging a level of an external input signal. The update individual control part latches an impedance code of a programmable impedance controller and then performs an up update or a down update continuously according to the level of the external input signal.
