CUSHION MATERIAL AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushion material which prevents absorbed moisture from seeping out under the cushion material such as Futon (Japanese quilt and mattress). SOLUTION: The cushion material has a layer of hydrophilic fibers and a layer of water repellent fibers. The layer of hydrophilic fibers is made up of a base fiber with hydrophilicity and a fiber of a low melting point with a component the melting point of which is 20 deg.C lower than that of the base fiber at least on the surface. The layer of hydrophilic fibers contains 40-90 mass % of the base fiber with the hydrophilicity. The layer of water repellent fibers is made up of a base fiber with a water repelling function and a fiber of a low melting point with a component the melting point of which is 20 deg.C lower than that of the base fiber at least on the surface. The layer of water repellent fibers contains 20-80 mass % of base fiber with the water repelling function. The layer of hydrophilic fibers and the layer of water repellent fibers are piled up to constituted a mass ratio between 98:2 and 30:70, and is subjected to heat treatment.
