PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an even washing of a Futon (Japanese quilt and mattress) while eliminating any lost shape thereof. SOLUTION: A drum 5 has a rear face plate 53 provided with water through holes, a water holding member 18 is mounted so as to cover a part of the water through holes and a pocket having an open water inlet is formed on the side of the shaft thereof. A Futon is housed into the drum 5 and a detergent water is supplied into an outer tank 2 while the drum 5 is rotated at a rotational speed that allows the centrifugal force working on the Futon to surpass the gravity. The detergent water fills the clearance between the shell part 51 of the drum 5 and the shell part of the outer tank 2 and advances forward and backward and is jetted out into the drum 5 from a clothing dumping opening at the front position and from the water through holes through the pocket at the rear position. Then, the detergent water splashes over the inner circumferential surface of the Futon stuck on the internal surface of the shall part 51 of the drum 5, passes through the Futon by the centrifugal force and comes out to the side of the outer tank 2 from water through holes 511 to be circulated.
