An expansion joint between pavement sections 12, 13 includes a pair of frames 15, 16 for seating an elastomer sealing strip 10 spanning the joint. Each frame 15, 16 has a rear wall 21 and a front wall of each frame has a downwardly and rearwardly sloping upper segment 23 and a hook-shaped segment 24. Each frame forms a slot between the longitudinal free edge 38 of its lower segment and the facing surface of its upper segment 23 and triangular beads 33 are forced along the slots so that longitudinal lips 34, 35 of each bead seal respectively against the edge and said facing surface of one of the frames 15, 16. <IMAGE> |
