They are secured to tail boom by means of transversal cover plates through elastic dissipative gaskets. Internal friction of material of gaskets provides for damping flexural waves on tail boom. Combination of spatial installation of ribs makes it possible to dampen both vertical and horizontal oscillations. Besides that, ribs form counter-acting moment partially compensating contra-rotating torque of main rotor, both in hovering and at low flight speeds. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of dampening flexural waves of tail boom and partial compensation of contra-rotating torque of helicopter main rotor. 3 dwg
