PROCESS FOR PRODUCING PTC POLYMER COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: Provided is a PTC(positive temperature coefficient) polymer composition, which has a low specific resistance at an ordinary temperature and high strength in over current and excellent repeating reproducibility. CONSTITUTION: The PTC polymer composition is produced by a process comprising the steps of: grafting a polar monomer, such as acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, vinyl phosphonic acid, to high density polyethylene powder by irradiating radiation such as gamma rays and electron rays; adding a conductive ion to the carboxyl group of the polar monomer grafted composition; mixing the composition with a high density polyethylene resin and a carbon black; forming a sheet of the composition to the both sides of which conductive metal thin films are attached and irradiating the radiation.
