PURPOSE: A data processing device of a disk player and a control method of the data processing device are provided to process data at a high speed without increasing system clock. CONSTITUTION: A data processing device of a disk player includes a number of buffers, and a control part. The buffers access independently by each data process to process digital data for reading and/or recording. The control part controls all processes of modulating/demodulating, format changing, and error correcting of the reading and/or recording data by using the buffers. The control part has a data control part(223) for outputting control signal, an error correction buffer control part(225) for outputting control signal according to error correction request signal, and a buffer selecting part for selecting the buffer according to the control signals of the error correction buffer control part and the data control part.
