PURPOSE:To make a U-shaped member which has an erasing coil lower than a recording and a reproducing core, to decrease the overall height of a magnetic head, and to reduce its size by fitting the U-shaped member slantingly to a couple of erasing core body parts at a tip side in a core axis direction. CONSTITUTION:The erasing core 15 is cut at its root side and a back bar 24 having a coil 25 is fitted almost at right angles to the height direction of the erasing core 15 instead. Therefore, the back bar 24 is arranged below the height of a recording and reproducing core 14 beside the recording and reproducing core 14 without crossing the back bar 19 of the recording and reproducing core 14, so the overall height of the core is reduced and the magnetic head 11 is also reduced in height to attain the size reduction. |
