PURPOSE: A rotary engine is provided to minimize the volume and weight in comparison with other engines and increase the efficiency of the engine. CONSTITUTION: A rotary engine is composed of a housing(10), a rotor(14), a partition plate(15), a cam(17), and a balance rod(20). An ignition plug(4), a high-pressure inlet valve(5), a combustion gas exhaust port, and a partition plate guider(8) are formed at a peripheral portion of a cylindrical portion of the housing. The housing(10) has a rotation chamber at an inside portion. The rotor has a plurality of explosion grooves(13) in form of curved surfaces to generate the power by changing the heat energy into the motion energy. The partition plate is received in the partition plate guider(8) to discharge the combustion gas to the combustion gas exhaust port. The cam is formed to slide the partition plate on the curved surface. When an up/down rod(19) lifts up, the partition plate(15) at the other side goes down.
