PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device, method, and an image processing system which can display an object as if the object was placed under an illumination at the time of the display and watched directly, without measuring the illumination characteristics at the time of the display. SOLUTION: An image display device 2 consists of an illumination light 20 for observation, data storage parts 21 and 22, a reflectance reproduction and converting part 23, a reflection-type color liquid crystal display (reflection type LCD) device 24, and the like. The reflectance reproduction converting part 23 converts the reflectance data of 81 frequency bands into red, blue, and green reflectance data corresponding to the display properties of the reflection- type LCD device 24. When these data are supplied to the reflection type LCD device 24, the light reflectance of each liquid crystal cell almost coincides with the reflectance in each part of an object A.
