PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the visibility in the case a tail lamp is lit in a night illumination mode set in daytime. SOLUTION: In a day illumination mode, an LCD panel 11 is illuminated by a first light source. In the night illumination mode, a display plate 3 and an LCD panel 12 are illuminated by a second light source. In a tail cancel illumination mode, the display plate 3 and the LCD panel 12 are illuminated by the second light source. The tail cancel illumination mode is changed by operating a T/C switch 60 after the change into the night illumination mode in daytime. When the mode is changed into the tail cancel illumination mode, a voltage applied to the second light source becomes higher than the voltage applied to the second light source in the night illumination mode, and thereby the display plate 3 and the LCD panel 11 are illuminated more brightly.
