The airborne micro-organism sampler has an impacter grille (5) with holes (7), designed to be fitted over a Petri dish (1) with a culture medium. Prior to use the Petri dish is protected by a safety cover (3), and the grille, made from a material able to withstand autoclaving temperatures e.g. of 134[deg] C for 5 min, has projections (6) on its underside to prevent it being fitted to the Petri dish holder before the cover has been removed.
