摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display method which enables an observer to well observe stereoscopic images without fatiguing when the observer observes the stereoscopic images by utilizing a super-multinocular stereoscopic display and a stereoscopic image display device using the same. SOLUTION: A luminance distribution having the minimum area in a string of the luminance distributions indicating the same object at a ray focal plane in the stereoscopic image display method of focusing the adjustment of the observer's eyes to the intersection point position of the rays with each other by making the plural rays incident on the observer's pupils is defined as the minimum object and the set of the rays radiated from the minimum object is defined as an object ray flux. The display device in the method described above is so installed that the distance L from the observer's pupils to the simultaneous intersection point position of the object ray fluxes, the distance 1 from the observer's pupils to a position where the diameter of the object ray fluxes is minimum, the spacing d of the farthest object ray fluxes with each other on the pupil surface among the object ray fluxes and the diameter ϕof the diameter when the object ray fluxes are made incident on the pupils are adequate.
