PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for personification which can generate delicate differences of the line-of-vision of a character and transmit various information to a user by the line-of-vision. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a line-of-vision coordinate output parts 11 to 16 which outputs the line-of-vision coordinates of a personified character determinatively or not determinatively corresponding to pieces of target information to be transmitted to the user. A target information input part 2 inputs target information to be transmitted to the user. A line-of-vision coordinate correction part 3 selects one of the output parts 11 to 16 corresponding to the target information according to specific correspondence relation, corrects the line-of-vision coordinates outputted by it according to the current states of the system and user, and determines and outputs the current line-of-vision coordinates of the character. A character video generation part 4 generates and displays character video, which has the line-of-vision in an actual space represented by the current line-of-vision coordinates on a display and then the movement of the line-of-vision is changed to transmit various target information to the user.
