PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To comparatively easily set the operation of a digital still camera. SOLUTION: A various-setting table 70 is displayed on a display screen when the operation of the digital still camera is set. The table 70 comprises a common setting item (a brightness in a monitor and volume) which has no relation to a set mode (a reproduction mode or an image pickup mode) and also comprises a setting item (SET-UP) intrinsic to the mode. The display of the table 70 permits a user to set the common setting item having no relation to the mode and the setting item intrinsic to the mode.
