PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device capable of suppressing a wasteful consumption of the fuel and enhancing the controllability for the torque. SOLUTION: On the basis of the degree of an accelerator opening and the engine speed, an engine control unit calculates the pilot injection start timing, pilot injection ending timing, main injection start timing, and main injection ending timing and produces drive pulses 3, and the produced pulses are outputted to injectors so that the fuel is injected into the cylinders of the engine from injection nozzles. In this fuel injection device, governor control is conducted in such a way that the side with the main injection ending timing of the drive pulses 3 is fixed while the side with the main injection start timing is made variable.
