DIAGNOSIS METHOD OF PROTOZOAN PARASITE PERKINSUS IN SHELLFISH BY USING OLIGONUCLEOTIDES PRIMER AND PCR

PURPOSE: Provided is a diagnosis method of protozoan parasite Perkinsus in shellfish by using oligonucleotides primer and PCR. Therefore, it is useful in a quarantine station or an institution for the study of parasite infection. CONSTITUTION: Perkinsus genus and P. atlanticus are specifically detected by PCR using a primer for the common oligonucleotides of Perkinsus genus determined by comparing internal transcribed spacer(ITS) of P. marinus, P. atlanticus, P. olseni, and P. andrewsi and an oligonucleotides primer specific to nontranscribed spacer(NTS) of P. atlanticus.
