PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a physical distribution management system capable of efficiently managing physical distribution of an upper medium sized transport company and small and medium sized delivery companies. SOLUTION: This physical distribution management system manages a physical distribution function between the transport company receiving an order of collection/delivery from a consignor and handling the order by using a hired vehicle, and a delivery company providing a delivery vehicle as the hired vehicle and undertaking the collection/delivery. A center 10 is provided connecting terminals of a transport company 60, a delivery company 61 and a consignor 62 via a communication network 71. The center lends a portable terminal 40 to be carried on the delivery vehicle to the delivery company and communicates with the portable terminal via a mobile communication network 72. When vacant vehicle information is received from the portable terminal or the delivery company terminal and registered and collection/delivery application information is received from the transport company terminal, a delivery company candidate is presented to the transport company terminal by referring to the vacant vehicle information, a collection/delivery is requested to the delivery company selected by the transport company, and collection/delivery information is downloaded to the delivery vehicle through the portable terminal. Systemization adapted to operation types of the transport company and the delivery company can be inexpensively provided. |
