PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable resin composition for coating optical fiber, having both excellent jelly resistance and hot water resistance rated by dimensional change on immersion in mineral oil and by water resistance rating method both properly reflecting both the jelly resistance and water resistance of optical fiber. SOLUTION: This curable resin composition for coating optical fiber comprises (1) 50-70 wt.% of a urethane (meth)acrylate prepared from a polyol compound, a polyisocyanate compound and a hydroxy group-containing (meth) acrylate compound, (2) a reactive diluent copolymerizable with the component 1 and (3) a polymerization initiator. The other objective cured product of the above resin composition is such that when immersed in a mineral oil, the dimensional change at 25 deg.C after one week is <=2.5%, or when a five-layer cured laminate including a sandwich three-layer cured laminate or colored laminate containing the cured product as the primary layer is immersed in 60 deg.C hot water, there occurs no bubbly defects in the primary layer after one week.
