PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixed deposit of interest larger than usual on the birthday of a customer and to provide a service exempting or reducing a transfer commission. SOLUTION: On the customer guide operation part 2 of the automatic transaction device 1, the birthday special service is displayed together with ordinary transaction kinds and when this birthday special service is selected, a picture showing that a fixed deposit of higher interest is provided and a transfer communication is exempted or reduced is displayed on the customer guide operation part 2 to let a customer make a choice. Then the customer is made to insert a bankbook or a card corresponding to the selected service contents and when customer information is read out of its magnetic stripe and sent to a host computer 11, the host computer 11 retrieves information on the birthday of the customer from a customer information file 12 and allows the fixed deposit of higher interest and exempts or reduces the transfer commission when the retrieved birthday is within a certain range from the current day.
