PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a heater which is equipped with the safety against abnormal overheating at radiative heating and the comfortableness by discharging of an optimum quantity of radiant heat. SOLUTION: The safety of an apparatus is achieved by detecting the temperature of a radiator 12 or the atmosphere around the radiator at all times by means of a radiator temperature detection means 13, arranged at the inlet of a radiator heating air duct 23 besides being near the radiator 12, thereby detecting the abnormal overheating of the radiator 12 or the temperature of the radiator ambient temperature, which arises when the front of the radiator is covered with a blanket-form object or when the flow of air to the radiator cooling air duct 20 has decreased, and stopping the combustion of a burner 11. Moreover, the quantity of radiation is estimated by the radiator temperature detection means 13, and the quantity of combustion of the burner 11 is controlled by a controller 26 so that it achieves comfortable level of radiation quantity. |
