PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent artificial mistakes by readily detecting erroneous piping or erroneous connection at the time of setting, in a multiple type air conditioner. SOLUTION: In making a trial run after installation operation, an erroneous piping/connection detector 14a or 24a reads a given temperature change of the temperature detected by a first indoor piping temperature detector 11 or a second indoor piping temperature detector 21 in an indoor unit 1 or 2 under suspension which has not yet been instructed with air conditioning operation, and makes a determination as to erroneous piping or erroneous connection. Thus human errors are prevented in the installation operation and installation time can be shortened.
