PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety handrail in which a handrail body can be attached to a pair of vertical frameworks for a scaffold from inner position of braces put across a pair of opposing vertical members of the frameworks. SOLUTION: A safety handrail T used for framing a scaffold including a pair of opposing cross members 2, 2 of a pair of vertical frameworks 4, 4, a scaffold board 6 laid across the cross members 2, 2, braces 5, 5 put across a pair of vertical members 1, 1 comprises a handrail body 7 placed between the vertical members 1, 1 of the frameworks 4, 4 for the scaffold. The lower ends of the handrail body 7 are formed to bent inward to be placed inner position of the frameworks 4, 4 than the braces 5, 5. The end of the bent part of the handrail body 7 is provided with a clamp 8 by which the handrail can be fixed on the vertical member 1 of the framework 4. An engaging hook 9 is provided at the upper part of the clamp attachment part for engaging and removing the handrail body 7 from upwards with and from the cross member 2 of the framework 4 for the scaffold.
