PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out stable shaft sealing without direct working of high- pressure delivered liquid on a shaft sealing part by eliminating the securement of a water source for watering, and the laying of an exclusive outside-watering pipe. SOLUTION: The shaft sealing part 10 of a pump and a suction pipe 1 are connected to each other using a connecting pipe 12 to supply delivered liquid under low pressure to the shaft sealing part 10. The delivered liquid flows to the suction pipe 1 through the connecting pipe 12 from the shaft sealing part 10 when the shaft sealing part has a higher pressure than that of the suction pipe at the time of driving the pump, and the removal of heat and the cleaning of the shaft sealing part 10 is carried out by this flow. The delivered liquid directly working on the shaft sealing part 10 is roughly the same low pressure as the pressure of the suction pipe 1 as the shaft sealing part 10 and the suction pipe 1 are communicated to each other, and accordingly, it is possible to carry out the stable shaft sealing.
