AUTOMATIC INDEX GENERATING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it takes much time to generate an index in a conventional index imparting method since manual imparting the index needs much labor and time and image is analyzed over a long time even when the index is imparted without manual aid. SOLUTION: The index of an event in a TV program is automatically generated in an automatic index generating device. The device is constituted by comparing the pattern (S-2) of photographing range of each TV camera obtained from camera data of each TV camera with the prepared pattern (S-3) of the photographing range of the TV camera in accordance with the kind of the program (S-4) and by generating the event index (S-5) previously set in accordance with the prepared photographing range pattern in the case of coincidence as a comparison result.
