PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a material for a light emitting element and a light emitting element having high-luminance and high-efficiency luminescence at a low-voltage drive and excellent stability in repeated use. SOLUTION: This material for a light emitting element is represented by general formula (I) (R1 and R2 are each a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic hydrocarbon group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; R3, R4, R5, R6 and R7 are each a hydrogen atom or a substituent group; Rx and Ry are a hydrogen atom or a substituent group and at least one is an electron attractive group; L is a connecting group to be subjected to a conjugated bond. This light emitting element contains the material for a light emitting element at least in one layer.
