PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a physical article which is made by re-firing a new fired- article, which is free from generation of cracks and breakage due to external impact or rapid temperature change and resistant to thermal shock, in a cremation of the deceased as a personal memento precursor so that the article overlaps with memories to the deceased, proves its being cremated together, and gives comfort and calmness to the bereaved family by keeping it in hand, and provide a method of making the same. SOLUTION: The deceased memento precursor is a new thermal shock resistant fired-article to which a kiln-modulation means is added or a masking substance is applied. The precursor is cremated together with a coffin so that the deceased memento, the physical article which proves its being cremated together, is made.
