PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily tell an audience about the currently set speech mode when multichannel speech reproduction of a BS digital broadcast or the like is being received. SOLUTION: A multichannel audio signal is decoded and the speech mode of the speech being currently reproduced is judged. Corresponding to the arrangement of front left and right speakers, a center speaker, rear left and right speakers and a sub-woofer for reproducing a multichannel broadcast, each display part which constitutes the graphics display area in the speech mode is displayed. Each display part is shown so that the speech of independent channels takes a different color and pattern on the basis of the speech mode judged from the received voice packet.
