PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out contents distributed from a distribution server to a client terminal as a intended aim. SOLUTION: A user transmits data on retrieval conditions and playback environment according to the retrieval of music data on a display 31 (contents) and a playback environment input screen (S1800 to S1804). A WEB server 21 retrieves the music data which satisfy the retrieval conditions, and transmits a retrieval result to a WEB browser 33a (S1806). The user selects a piece of music which he/she desires to purchase on the basis of the retrieval result, and transmits a distribution request signal including a music identification number which specifies the selected piece of music to be purchased to the WEB server 21 (S1808). The WEB server 21 reads music data corresponding to the music identification number from a database 22, processes them so as to fit in with the playback environment, and transmits a processed music data file to a WEB browser 33a (S1810).
