PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a low air permeable, high-density fabric while retaining the physical properties required as an airbag. SOLUTION: This method for producing a low air permeable fabric comprises the steps of shrinking treatment of a woven base fabric at 60-100 deg.C and then drying the resultant fabric at 90-150 deg.C; wherein it is characteristic that the drying is made by adjusting the warp tension of the base fabric to <=0.040 g/dtex.
