PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing method for a digital camera that relieves a processing load at reproduction. SOLUTION: In the case of recording image files and independent audio files, an image file name consisting of a file name of a prescribed form including a file number, which is increased in the order of recording, and of an image file extender is given to the files. In the case of recording an audio file, an audio file name consisting of a file name of a prescribed form including a file number and of an image file extender is given to the audio file. In the case of recording an image file while relating it with an audio file, the file name of the image file corresponding to the file name of the audio file is given the same. Whether an audio file is a related audio file or an independent audio file is discriminated depending on whether or not there is an image file with the same file name as that of the audio file name in a recording directory and the files are reproduced according to the file numbers of the image files and the independent audio files.
