摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material, capable of realizing a secondary battery, which combines high safety level and superior capacity characteristic, when it is used as the positive electrode material of the battery, its manufacturing method, and the lithium ion secondary battery. SOLUTION: It consists of compound oxide particles, which has a composition expressed by the general formula Li1+xNi1-y-zCoyAlzO2 (where, 0<=x<=0.1, 0.1<=y<=0.4, 0.02<=z<=0.1). The difference in the Bragg angles of the (110) face and (018) face in the X-ray diffraction pattern of the powder of the compound oxide particles is [0.29&times;(y+z)+0.172] degree or more, and its 10% cumulative frequency of the particle diameters is 1 &mu;m or more.
