CONSUMPTION TYPE THERMOCOUPLE

PURPOSE: A consumption type thermocouple is provided to maintain accurate immersion depth and measure the temperature of molten metal in an accurate and rapid manner. CONSTITUTION: A consumption type thermocouple comprises a support(30) made of ceramic material and extended from the top of a housing(20) fixed at a lateral duct(10); a quartz pipe(60) having open both ends, and which is eccentrically disposed upward within the support; a thermometric wire inserted into the quartz pipe and bonded to the quartz pipe in such a manner that the thermometric contact is formed at the outer side of the top and deflected in a direction; a protection pipe(70) having a closed top and an open bottom, and which is arranged to accommodate the quartz pipe; a refractory cement(40) which fills the support so as to fix the quartz pipe and the protection pipe; a buffering unit(50) protruded upward from the top of the support; and a pair of auxiliary wires arranged outside of the protection pipe so as to form a closed circuit.
