PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely upgrade the version of firmware and a driver as the software needed for the best printing of an image forming device at low cost. SOLUTION: A high-speed black-and-white hybrid machine 19 having a CSS communication part confirms the model of another image forming device which has no CSS communication part and the current version of its firmware, obtains its model and information on the latest version of firmware corresponding to the model of the image forming device from a central managing device 50 to check whether the firmware needs to be upgraded, and downloads the firmware corresponding to its model from the central managing device 50 and upgrades it when the firmware has been upgraded, and downloads the firmware corresponding to the type of the image forming device from the central managing device 50 and transfers it to the image forming device through a network 20 to revise it when the firmware has been upgraded. |
