Disclosed is a device and a method for processing plastic in a processing system comprising two processing stations. In order to prevent a plastic part from cooling or becoming contaminated by dust particles when it is transported from one processing facility to the next, the plastic part (S) is guided by means of a channel which is shielded from the outer environment by covering elements (50,52) or side walls at least on the side of the transport path and in an upward direction. Hot air, preferably purified hot air, is fed through an air supply (70) in order to further reduce cooling.
