PURPOSE: A drum brake is provided to cut down expenses, and to increase the productivity by operating an adjuster and restoring a brake shoe with a spring and by modifying a lever pawl. CONSTITUTION: A drum brake is composed of a drum(100) rotating with wheels; leading and trailing shoes(300,400) attaching linings(310,410) braking by friction with the inner periphery of the drum; an adjuster(600) between leading and trailing shoes extended by rotating a bolt(630) to compensate clearance between the drum and the linings at wear of the lining; and a lever pawl(700) combined with the leading shoe to turn the bolt. A shaft(710) of the lever pawl is combined with a web(330) of the leading shoe, and the end of the lever pawl is fitted to the bolt. The leading shoe and the trailing shoe are returned with an operating spring(720) in releasing braking.
