The float (R), with chambers (1, 2) designed to be inflated pneumatically on a liquid surface by a pressurised gas (4) has its inflation system fitted with Venturi nozzles (3) that draw in ambient air to assist inflation. The Venturi nozzles are covered by protectors which allow in ambient air but prevent liquid penetrating. The protectors are made with reinforcing members (6) supporting panels (8, 9) with offset apertures (10, 11) that form chicanes between the outside and the Venturi nozzles, while allowing access to close the nozzles at the end of inflation. |
