<p>The method for gravity pipeline refurbishment consists in the addition of a next pipe unit (2) in the starting trough (3), which is connected to the first one (1) after having fixed a pilot head (5) thereon and after having immobilized the first unit (1) with the aid of an interlock mechanism (4) by winding a cable (6) around the winding drum of a hoisting winch (7)-- the cable is caught at the end of the unit (2) initially placed in the starting trough (3)-- and after having connected the units (1) and (2), the new pipeline section installed so far is shifted then with the aid of the cable (6) towards the inside of the pipeline section being refurbished. Installation for gravity pipeline refurbishment has a starting trough (3) provided with an interlock mechanism (4) to be automatically released when the unit (2) added has been connected to the preceding one (1), and the pipe unit (1) has a circumferential groove (1') of a trapezoid section on its outside surface and it has grooves (1'') at its bare end provided for sealing rings located on its cylindrical central part, but its endmost parts of conical shape of small convergence, and the end of the the hoisting winch (7) cable (6) is fastened at the end of the pipe unit (2) added by means of a dog (8), and the hoisting winch (7) and the starting trough (3) are provided with the limit switches, respectively (11) and (12).</p> |
